I have always been a fan of big dreamers, people who believe that nothing is impossible. Having a dream and fighting to see it come through is iconic. Not all dreamers see their dreams to the end, some I refer to as heroes, tried and fell, others tried and gave up, the people who succeed in bringing something to life and sustaining it are the niche creators. They find a target, create a path and win with a strategy.

My life hasn’t been particularly straightforward, have had to battle being sick and staying alive from day one, have had to cope with pain that pierces like a knife for 34 years of my life. The fun thing is I never allow this to stop me, am probably the most positive dude out there even in the midst of so much pain. I probably will give you a pep talk on staying strong and convince you on it, I could get sick next minute, but the come back is always my best part because I come back stronger and rebooted to go after my dreams.

When I First Registered Nugi Technologies as a business name in 2012, I was only dreaming about creating something out of nothing! Today, Nugi has established herself as a global software company building great apps. I have been able to establish Nugi as a multi-product company with clients across several countries, our Cloudskul product powers over 798 schools across the world and guess what? some of these schools could barely afford tech so we made it free. I wouldn't get here if I stopped to listen to the dream killers, One thing i hated and disliked so well was anyone who told me I couldn't achieve my dreams, my reactions were very simple, cut off immediately from anyone who discouraged me. You see, I have probably been told “a NO” so many times in my life, but every “NO” became my strength, my reason to prove the doubters wrong.

I have probably met some of the best young minds in my experience as an entrepreneur , I often ask how these persons manage to stay so far from success, its crazy how people with skills, and ideas manage to stay poor when the world’s mysteries remain unsolved, when loads of people are waiting for the great ideas they carry about, some; just waiting to hear them and take actions. You can make your own opportunities by identifying and pursuing a niche that is either under-served or an emerging trend. Once you recognize a need, look at it objectively from all angles and get creative about how you could serve that need. This strategy applies to both entrepreneurs and those in the job market. You may have an idea about how to do something better, faster, cheaper or at a higher quality. You may have a new service idea, work on it and share it with superiors and colleagues, not everyone will go with you on your ideas, don't border at all, just follow the energy within you. If that energy can make you want to do something really unbelievable, something people think you cannot handle, go for it and show them you are made for anything.

My friend Chibuike, I call him Chibexme, has been working on Ozioma- https://ozioma.net (meaning “good news”); Ozioma is an ambitious SMS platform that seeks to change how we see text messaging, Chibex gave birth to Ozioma back in 2012 and has worked so hard on the tech, today Ozioma is helping businesses like Nugi and many others power in-apps SMS; you may not see clarity when the idea kicks out, but as you give it passion, dedication and commitment, you’ll see it come alive. To build Ozioma, Chibex had to chase a passion, not cash, he took responsibilities and enjoyed all his mistakes, everyone one of them became a tool to make Ozioma better, go check out Ozioma, come back and gift me some Ozi Units.

We often delay getting started, giving excuses and blaming people or forces for our downfall. Until you get started, you’ll burn your youth getting old. I never had Nugi figured out when we started; looking back today, I think most of my friends who were ahead of me knew it could have been a joke. I was sure so clueless, knowing what I wanted to build but lacking the skills and capacity to do so. All that setback or not knowing how to; never stopped me from dreaming, never stopped me from going after building Nugi. We struggled with Nugitech from 2016 when we finally and officially got registered and we just started figuring a lot out in 2019. If you want to build a big dream, you might probably want to change a lot even including moving away from your comfort; last year we took a bold decision in Nugi to setup our Lagos HQ in Lekki, one of the most difficult but bold decisions I ever made for the company. Its already six months since we made that decision and you know what? we became a group in that time consolidating on all we did from 2014–2018, we gained more clients and trust from partners, and secured our next ten years in just six months.

Ideas are useless, execution is key. People copy and steal ideas and outsell the original idea owner; people with original or unique ideas are still home or badly executing their ideas, steal ideas if you must, but solve a problem the idea owner could not solve, create a niche, a path and find the right energy. Everything that was ever made made or existed, someone out there thought of a way to make it simpler and made so much doing so. All of these you’ll get to find out if you get up and start from somewhere. If you create a machine that could wash my clothes and make them available for use in under 30 mins without water, you’ll probably be a best seller and 100% certain I’ll be your customer and fan. The most stupid things made the most sense to billions of people, so your boxed idea in your head is wasting if you don't get up and start.

I have made so many mistakes during this time, I know I’ll make more as I continue to grow in business. I made mistakes that almost wrecked everything but the energy to get up and continue after all of them has been the basis for all the success we recorded so far coming into 2020. Start a business and make more mistakes, every top business man made a mistake, the mistakes are not the fall, its the handling them that makes you fall or win.
